Calcium Sulfate Hemihydrate, having the chemical formula CaSO4-1/2H2O or Ca2H2O9S2, is a monohydrate calcium salt. It appears as white or yellowish, odorless, crystalline solid at ambient conditions and is sparingly soluble in water. It is produced by heating gypsum at 373 K, which results in loss of water molecules to form a hemihydrate. It is famously known as Plaster of Paris and is also termed as Alabaster, Gypsum Hemihydrate, and Karstenite. It forms a paste when mixed with water that soon hardens into a solid and is widely used in making casts, molds, and sculpture. Our Calcium Sulfate Hemihydrate is recommended for both domestic and commercial scale applications. Lab Alley is selling its premium quality products online at laballey.com in the United States of America (USA).
